Adding Insulin and Food Data into Navigator

I just had a great question from Val about how the insulin and food information is input into the
Navigator, so I thought I'd post some more photos to show you how.

Next, you have to go back to the main screen as pictured in the second image and select "Meals," then:

Does the navigator only have inputs for carbs, but not protein or fat? I am so sick of only hearing about carbs, carbs and carbs. Proteins and fat also increase bg values for lots of Ds....

Hi Chrissie,

Nope, just carbs. I personally don't experience fluctuations with protein (some with high fat carbs like pizza).

I heard that a consumer group is trying to get nutritional info added to menus, but of course they just want to document fat and calories (http://www.nbc6.net/health/11123224/detail.html). Wouldn't it be amazing to go into a restaurant and see that the bowl of pasta is 95g carbs and 30g of fat before you order?

I don't care about calorie value information other than knowing approximately how many I should have per day. I only track what I need to know to keep my blood sugars in line.

Thanks for the info - the Navigator certainly looks a lot more flexible than the Dexcom. Mine is out of warrantee now, so if something goes wrong with it (which I'm hoping wont happen) and Navigator was available, I might want to go for one of those instead...

Do you find Navigator is accurate at low BGs? That was my biggest issue with the MiniMed trial I was on - though I'm trying to get in a new trial on their generation 2 sensor....

Hi Val,

I have found the Navigator to be incredibly accurate both high and low. Only a few discrepencies more than 40 points, but overall very impressive.
