But here I sit eating a bowl of cereal. My blood sugar is 56. I feel low and I feel hungry. I drank a juice box, but no, I could not resist the call on Honey Bunches of Oats and milk. In fact, I think I'll have another bowl.
No, the juice hasn't quite hit yet...

I so hate that feeling. Though I hate being low after already eating a big meal even more.
I call it the Diabetes munchies. The worst is a low b.s. in the middle of the night the day after Halloween when the leftover candy is still in the pantry. ;)
Tru dat! I can't tell you how many times I have to fight eating more because the juice box hasn't kicked in yet. It's so hard to lay in bed and wait, so I get up and do something: check email, add to my grocery list, get the dogs' bowls ready for the morning. Anything to take my mind off how I feel. Most of the time it works. Waiting to come up is like watching grass grow!
I dont personally know how it feels to go low or be diabetic but I would love some advice on what to keep by the bed if my boyfriend goes low during the night so that he can just grab it instead of having to get up and run around my house, where we're all pretty much sugar free, trying to find something to get his sugar levels back up??
Wow! I thought I responded to you about your boyfriend. So sorry. My favorite thing to keep by my bed are Juicy Juice 4 oz juice boxes. Just so you see what they look like, go here: http://www.amazon.com/Juicy-Juice-Grape-8-Count-4-23-Ounce/dp/B003GBCNGE/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1302958889&sr=1-1
I have them all over the house and they last a long time if you don't need them.
